Tackling the Digital Transformation Challenge with Managed Print

With the internet of things (IoT) we live in an always-connected world. Businesses, from small and mid-sized – to large and enterprise, are taking advantage of this technology by launching digital transformation initiatives to increase productivity, reduce business processing errors, and maintain compliance and security ratings that can help them win business.

Where Physical Meets Digital

It is at that intersection, where paper meets digital, that some businesses struggle to make meaningful change to their workflows. Often, in the race to implement new technology, they end up forcing their employees to create their own physical workarounds and fill the gaps created by poorly implemented digital workflows.

It was these types of challenges that were at the heart of the discussions and best practice sharing at the sixth annual Xerox® Partner Print Services Council hosted by Xerox at the IESE Business School in Barcelona. During two packed days, over twenty leading European Xerox Partner Print Services accredited channel partners worked with senior Xerox MPS leaders and reimagined the future of managed print and how to maximize the opportunities digital transformation brings.

Seeing and Feeling Is More Important Than Hearing

With many SMB s looking to channel partners for digital transformational assistance in the very near future, time is of the essence. Each Xerox Partner Print Services council member brings a local perspective and expertise on today’s business challenges. But with ten languages and multiple cultures, the nature of a face to face interaction, where the ability to read each other’s body language became invaluable when further clarification and testing understanding was required.

Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM)

As each member shared their best practice and heads began to nod in agreement, copious notes were rapidly taken and everyone gave their guidance and feedback to each presenter.  Creating a community of trust and shared values where success for everyone and not the individual is the goal.

This is when the ideas really began to spark, and as a result, we have already made improvements to future offerings that will benefit the channel partner community as a whole. Without the entire council present and engaged – this would not have been possible.

From Formal Council to Self-Service Community

This year we saw a shift from a formal, once a year meeting, into a supportive, self-service channel MPS community. With members often meeting up outside of the council to share ideas, pass on leads and support local customer fulfillment opportunities.  There is a trust and a respect that is impossible to create overnight.

From Why Digital Transformation to How…

At the event, we had two industry speakers. Firstly, Louella Fernandes, senior analyst at Quocirca, shared valuable insights from Quocirca’s recent PRINT2025 research paper and the latest Quocirca Channel MPS Market Leadership report where we were yet again announced as the market leader. Leaving the council in no doubt as to why digital transformation is critical to their clients’ success.

To follow, Professor Xavier Camps from the IESE Business School challenged the council to explore “design thinking” a concept that helps address HOW to enable Digital Transformation. Design Thinking’s unique approach to digital transformation looks at how businesses can adapt operationally to drive improved Customer Experience, rather than adapting the product.  Take a closer look at the event in this video recap.
